There is no word from the company on when the new design will be released to the public, though they should eventually be a part of the Office 2019 suite. Microsoft is currently internally testing the new redesign of Outlook for Mac and Windows. Microsoft is following the design language of the respective OS’s which is why the Mac version of the app looks radically different from the Windows version. The Mac version of the app will also contain improvements to Calendar and feature new animations, an easier and faster way to manage appointments, and a faster and more reliable search experience. So, the company is aiming to offer the best experience of Outlook on Macs. Microsoft is especially focusing on the redesign of Outlook for Mac as it understands that enterprise and decision makers primarily make use of MacBooks. The new design is easier to navigate and features a navigation panel on the left to provide one with quick and easy access to their various email folders. The new UI takes design cues from Outlook for iOS and features a single-line ribbon at the top which can be customised to one’s liking. The new redesign is aimed at making the user interface of the app simpler to use. Microsoft is redesigning Outlook for Mac and Windows with the company demoing a teaser of the new design during its Ignite Conference last month.
